Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Ironclad Verified. They are written in plain English on purpose. By using the site, you agree to them.

What Ironclad Verified is

Ironclad Verified is a marketplace where homeowners find home-service contractors. Contractors are ranked by the Ironclad Score, one number from 0 to 100, computed the same way for every contractor from their review record. Rank can never be bought. The full method is published at How the Ironclad Score Works.

When you find a contractor you want, you send a request to that one contractor. Ironclad Verified passes your request to them and steps out of the way. The job itself, and everything about it, is between you and the contractor.

Who can use Ironclad Verified

• You are 18 or older.
• You give accurate information about yourself and your job.
• You use the site for a real project, either your own or one you are handling with the owner’s permission.

How a request works

When you submit a request, you give us your name, your phone number, your email if you choose to add it, and a short description of the job. We send that information to exactly one contractor: the one you picked. That contractor may then contact you about that job.

• Your request goes only to the one contractor you chose. No other company receives it.
• Your information is never sold, and your request is never fanned out to multiple companies.
• You can withdraw at any time at the withdraw page. When you withdraw, contact stops.

Reviews

Every scored review on Ironclad Verified is tied to a confirmed real job. Reviews from unconfirmed jobs carry no weight in the Score.

• Write reviews about your own honest experience with the job.
• Every listed contractor has accepted the Integrity Pledge: a confirmed fake review means permanent delisting, liquidated damages, and referral to the FTC.
• We remove reviews only for fraud, as defined in our published policy. We never remove a review for being negative. A bad review that reflects a real experience stays up, and a contractor has no way to pay for its removal.
• Contractors may post one public response to any review. Responses follow the same acceptable-use rules as reviews.
• Reviewer contact details are never published.

Acceptable use

• No fake, paid-for, or traded reviews, and no reviews of your own company or a competitor’s.
• No impersonation of any person or business.
• No bulk scraping or harvesting of contact information, reviews, or site data. An AI assistant acting for one homeowner may read this site and submit that homeowner’s request; see For AI agents.
• No requests submitted for any purpose other than getting your real job done.
• No harassment, threats, or unlawful content anywhere on the site.

We may remove content, decline requests, or suspend access for violations of these rules.

What Ironclad Verified is not

Read this section carefully. It is the most important one.

• We are a marketplace, not a contractor. Ironclad Verified performs no work on your home.
• We are not a party to your contract. Any agreement about the job, its price, its schedule, or its quality is between you and the contractor alone.
• We do not verify licenses or insurance. Before work begins, ask the contractor directly for current license and insurance information. Requirements differ by trade and by location, and checking them is your responsibility.
• The Score is a record, not a warranty. The Ironclad Score measures a contractor’s track record of reviews from confirmed jobs. It makes no guarantee about the quality, safety, timing, or price of any future work.

Limitation of liability

The plain version: if a job goes wrong, your remedy is with the contractor who did the work, because your contract is with them.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Ironclad Verified is not liable for the acts, omissions, work, pricing, or conduct of any contractor or homeowner, or for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the site. If we are found liable despite this section, our total liability is capped at 100 dollars or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions limit terms like these, so parts of this section may apply differently to you.

Reporting a problem

If something goes wrong with a contractor, a review, or a listing, report it on that contractor’s page. A human reads every report. Our target for an initial response is 48 hours.

We can act on our own marketplace: reviewing the record, correcting listings, removing fraudulent content, and removing contractors who break the rules. Disputes about the work itself remain between you and the contractor.

Changes and termination

We may update these terms. When we do, we post the new version here with a new date, and for significant changes we give notice on the site. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

We may suspend or remove accounts and listings that violate these terms. You may stop using the site at any time, and you may withdraw any open request at any time at the withdraw page.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Puerto Rico, and disputes will be handled in the courts of Puerto Rico, except where the law of your home jurisdiction requires otherwise.
